The Pride Center at Equality Park is seeking a part-time Clinic Welcome Specialist to become the welcoming face of our new Sexual Health Clinic. As the first person patients meet when they arrive, you'll help create a warm, respectful, and judgment-free experience while supporting our clinical team with day-to-day front desk and administrative operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in customer service, hospitality, customer service, or medical office reception who enjoys working with people and wants to make a meaningful impact in the community. Our Sexual Health Clinic provides affirming, status-neutral care, including HIV testing, STI screening and treatment, PrEP, PEP, and other prevention services for adults throughout South Florida.
- Salary: $16 - $18 per hour
- Schedule: Fixed clinic hours: Tuesday & Thursday (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM) and Saturday (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM). Hours are non-negotiable – schedule is as posted.
- Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week (non-exempt/hourly)
Responsibilities
- Patient Welcome & Intake: Greet patients arriving at the Sexual Health Clinic, verify appointment schedules and register walk-ins, monitor drop-in workflows, and provide required non-clinical intake paperwork in a warm, affirming manner.
- Clinic Operations Support: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional waiting room experience. Answer incoming clinic phone calls, take messages, and respond to non-clinical inquiries.
- Resource Preparation: Assist with the non-clinical assembly, preparation, and inventory monitoring of prevention materials, safer-sex kits, and educational resources.
- Flow Coordination: Work closely with the clinical team (APRN, RN, Wellness Navigators, Engagement Specialist) to ensure a seamless and discrete client handoff from check-in to clinical care.
- Maintain Boundaries: Strictly refer all medical, diagnostic, and clinical questions directly to licensed medical staff. Maintain absolute adherence to client confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least 1–3 years of professional experience in customer service, hospitality services, front-desk reception, or a related public-facing role.
- Skills: Strong basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, digital scheduling platforms, and accurate data entry).
- Discretion: Proven capability to handle highly sensitive, personal health information with the utmost discretion, empathy, and professional boundaries.
- Mandatory Level 2 Background Check: Pursuant to Florida law (§408.809, F.S.), this position requires a Level 2 background screening. Prospective employees must submit to fingerprinting and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications
- Associate degree in hospitality, customer service, medical office operations, or health administration is a plus.
- Prior experience working within a healthcare setting, medical front office, or public health non-profit.
- Familiarity with or lived experience working with both the LGBTQ+ community and individuals who may not identify as LGBTQ, including populations disproportionately impacted by HIV/STIs and those without resources to cover the costs of care.
- Prior training or familiarity with trauma-informed care and harm reduction frameworks.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a major plus.
