Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain will lead key supply chain execution activities supporting Battery Energy Storage System operations, including supply planning, demand alignment, master scheduling, material readiness, and ERP-driven process discipline. This role is responsible for ensuring that customer demand, production requirements, supplier commitments, and inventory plans are aligned to support on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and scalable growth.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in supply chain planning within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in BESS, energy storage, renewables, electronics, electrical systems, or complex engineered products. This leader must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global supply chain environment and driving best-in-class processes through SAP or similar ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Execution
- Lead integrated supply chain planning activities across demand planning, supply planning, purchasing coordination, and production scheduling.
- Translate customer demand, sales forecasts, and project requirements into executable supply and production plans.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between demand, capacity, materials, and delivery commitments.
- Support clear-to-build processes by ensuring material availability, supplier readiness, inventory accuracy, and production schedule alignment.
- Identify risks related to material shortages, supplier constraints, capacity limitations, and schedule disruptions; drive mitigation plans with cross-functional stakeholders.
Supply & Demand Planning
- Support demand review processes by aligning forecast inputs, customer orders, project timing, and commercial priorities.
- Develop and maintain supply plans that balance demand requirements, supplier capacity, inventory targets, and manufacturing constraints.
- Monitor changes in demand and supply and drive timely communication of impacts to stakeholders.
- Partner with demand planning and commercial teams to improve forecast accuracy, planning assumptions, and visibility to future requirements.
Master Scheduling
- Own or support master scheduling activities for BESS production, integration, or fulfillment operations.
- Convert demand and supply plans into executable master production schedules.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure schedule adherence.
- Monitor schedule performance and escalate constraints impacting customer delivery or operational commitments.
- Drive discipline in schedule changes, prioritization, and cross-functional communication.
ERP / SAP Process Excellence
- Champion best-in-class supply chain processes using SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
- Ensure transactional discipline across purchase orders, planned orders, production orders, inventory movements, delivery dates, master data, and planning parameters.
- Drive improvements in ERP data accuracy, process compliance, and planning visibility.
- Partner with business systems and process excellence teams to optimize planning tools, reporting, dashboards, and workflows.
- Establish standard work, metrics, and governance for supply chain planning and execution processes.
BESS / Manufacturing Operations Support
- Support supply chain execution for Battery Energy Storage System products, including enclosures, battery racks/modules, electrical components, thermal systems, power conversion equipment, and balance-of-system materials.
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure material readiness and production continuity.
- Support new product introductions, ramp plans, supplier transitions, and capacity readiness activities.
- Help drive scalable processes suitable for a global BESS manufacturing and supply chain environment.
Require Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in supply chain, planning, manufacturing operations, procurement operations, or master scheduling.
- Experience in supply planning, demand planning, production planning, master scheduling, or materials management.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, SAP S/4HANA, or similar ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience supporting complex manufacturing, engineered products, electronics, energy storage, renewables, automotive, industrial equipment, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of MRP, inventory planning, BOMs, routings, lead times, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, quality, finance, and commercial teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight delivery timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems, battery manufacturing, renewable energy, power electronics, or electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers, global suppliers, or outsourced manufacturing partners.
- APICS / ASCM CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP certification.
- Experience implementing or improving S&OP, S&OE, master scheduling, clear-to-build, shortage management, or ERP governance processes.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI experience.
- Experience with global supply chains and multi-region planning processes.
