Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Job Summary
Rajbhog Dairy Inc. is seeking an experienced and hands-on Dairy Operations Manager to oversee daily dairy plant operations, production flow, quality control, sanitation, inventory, shipping, invoicing, employee training, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
This position requires previous dairy experience, strong leadership skills, and frequent presence on the production floor to ensure smooth daily operations, food safety compliance, employee accountability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Start daily operations at 6:30 AM by completing pre-operational checks, verifying sanitation readiness, beginning pasteurization activities, performing basic QA checks, maintaining chart recorder documentation, and ensuring the production floor is fully ready for daily operations.
- Oversee daily dairy production to ensure production schedules are followed, product flow runs smoothly, and daily production goals are completed on time.
- Ensure all required ingredients, packaging materials, supplies, equipment, and labor are available for production, including proper planning for the second shift.
- Manage smooth communication and transition between day shift and second shift, including pending tasks, production status, priorities, and operational concerns.
- Maintain accurate records required for production, sanitation, training, Department of Agriculture and Markets, BRC audit, and other regulatory or customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, sanitation procedures, SOPs, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Plan, monitor, and follow up on daily sanitation activities to keep the facility, equipment, production areas, and workstations clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready.
- Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, supplies, and equipment; place timely orders and coordinate purchasing/vendor follow-up as needed.
- Oversee shipping activities, including order pulling, truck loading, shipment paperwork, invoicing, billing, and related office documentation.
- Review weekly payroll hours, timecards, attendance accuracy, payroll discrepancies, employee files, training records, and other HR-related documentation for the location.
- Supervise production employees, assign daily work, follow up on task completion, and ensure employees follow company procedures and safety requirements.
- Train and cross-train employees on SOPs, GMPs, sanitation, safety, quality control, food safety, and daily work expectations to maintain a strong backup staffing plan.
- Use basic maintenance knowledge to identify equipment issues, coordinate repairs, support new equipment setup, and assist with expansion projects such as tanks, cooler, incubator, automatic pail machine, and related dairy operation improvements.
- Assist in production when needed due to staffing shortages, urgent orders, downtime, or other operational needs, and complete daily closing checks to secure the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in food, beverage, or dairy manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance, including GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, sanitation, SOPs, and audit documentation.
- Experience with production operations, inventory, shipping, purchasing, employee training, documentation, and quality control is preferred.
- Basic maintenance knowledge is required.
- Must be reliable, punctual, organized, detail-oriented, and able to lead employees in a fast-paced production environment.
- Must be hands-on and willing to assist the production team when needed.
- English language skills are required. , Spanish language skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35–50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to bend, lift, push, pull, climb, reach, and walk as needed.
- Ability to work frequently on the production floor and assist with production, inventory, shipping, loading, and other operational needs.
Work Environment
- Frequent presence in a dairy production environment.
- Exposure to cold temperatures, humidity, cleaning chemicals, moving mechanical equipment, noise, food production areas, and sanitation areas.
