Job Description
Job Summary:
Perform routine equipment calibration, operational checks, and pyrometry activities for heat treat furnaces in accordance with AMS2750 requirements and company procedures. Perform scheduled equipment calibrations, SATs, TUSs, and thermocouple preparation using proper procedures and documentation practices. Maintain calibration standards, support furnace operational readiness, and ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with PCC Code of Conduct requirements, PCC Cardinal Rules, and all company quality and safety policies
Perform equipment calibrations, System Accuracy Tests (SATs), Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUSs), and related pyrometry activities in accordance with AMS2750 and company procedures
Prepare, assemble, and maintain thermocouples, survey racks, and related furnace components required for heat treat operations and pyrometry testing
Maintain calibration standards, instrumentation, and equipment in calibrated and operational condition
Accurately complete and maintain calibration records, process documentation, and required reports in a timely manner
Support furnace troubleshooting and repair activities using knowledge of combustion systems and thermal processing principles
Review routers, purchase orders, specifications, and shop travelers to ensure compliance with customer and quality requirements
Verify material certifications and approvals for thermocouple wire, pyrometers, gas analyzers, and related equipment prior to use
Maintain processing documentation and perform data entry within company systems, including shop traveler and router generation
Communicate discrepancies, quality concerns, and customer inquiries to appropriate internal departments and customers as needed
Assist with general administrative and clerical duties including filing, recordkeeping, and email communication
Maintain clean and organized work areas and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Safely operate equipment and tools required to perform assigned duties
Perform other duties as assigned
Required education / experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to read and understand calibration procedures and specifications
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be quality-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
High level of integrity and discretion with confidential information
Ability to bend, twist, squat, and lift/push/pull objects up to 35 lbs.
Ability to safely operate equipment and tools required for calibration activities
Preferred requirements:
1+ year of Aerospace Manufacturing or Heat Treat Processing experience
Working knowledge of AMS2750 pyrometry requirements
Experience performing SATs and TUSs
Experience with furnace combustion systems and troubleshooting
Experience assembling thermocouples and survey racks
Forklift operation experience
Experience with Oracle systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, purchase orders, and shop travelers
Experience using calibration and survey instrumentation
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.50 to $30 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
