Substance Use Disorder Counselors – Residential, Outpatient, IOP & Per Diem

We provide a continuum of care that includes residential treatment, intensive outpatient services, outpatient counseling, relapse-prevention services, and recovery support.
Position Summary
Bridgemark is seeking compassionate and dedicated counselors with experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Opportunities are available within our residential, outpatient, and intensive outpatient programs, including per diem positions.
We are specifically seeking counselors to conduct outpatient assessments, provide individual counseling sessions, and facilitate scheduled outpatient, IOP, and relapse-prevention groups. Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities may be available depending on program needs.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned program, responsibilities may include:
- Conduct comprehensive outpatient assessments to determine clients’ clinical needs, appropriate level of care, and the severity of substance use and co-occurring conditions.
- Provide clinical recommendations and referrals based on assessment findings and established placement criteria.
- Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans based on each client’s needs, strengths, and recovery goals.
- Provide individual outpatient counseling sessions using evidence-based and clinically appropriate approaches.
- Facilitate structured residential, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and relapse-prevention groups.
- Provide family counseling and support services when clinically appropriate.
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans, clinical recommendations, and service goals as needed.
- Participate in clinical supervision, treatment-team meetings, staff meetings, and care coordination.
- Complete assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Ensure services and documentation comply with contractual, licensing, accreditation, and program requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments, referral sources, and community providers to support continuity of care.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational policies.
- Support the residential therapeutic environment and assist with community management when assigned to the residential program.
- Respond to crises, assist with de-escalation, and use appropriate therapeutic interventions to maintain client and program safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, health services, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Must hold one of the following licenses: LCDP, LCDCS, LMHC, LICSW, LMFT.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in diagnosing and treating substance use disorders.
- Experience utilizing ASAM criteria.
- Ability to employ a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patient and family engagement in the recovery process.
