Marnie C. Bauer, DMD, PA is looking for a compassionate, patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our exceptional team in South Tampa. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality comprehensive care in a warm, spa-like environment where both patients and team members feel valued.
Schedule:
- Monday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, oral hygiene practices, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines for digital radiographs while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Maintain strict infection prevention management by following aseptic techniques and infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review and update medical records ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare privacy laws.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless patient care documentation.
- Support patient care activities including patient education on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions.
- Ensure all dental x-ray procedures are performed safely and accurately, maintaining proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
Experience
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure.
- Prior experience working in general dentistry
- Experience with Dentrix practice management software
- Experience with DEXIS digital imaging software
- Proficiency using an iTero or TRIOS intraoral scanner
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation.
- Experience in infection prevention management and maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting and documentation review enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive patient care.
