Overview
We are seeking Field Technicians to support a major water infrastructure upgrade project in Bellevue, WA. In this role, you will perform field investigations, troubleshoot utility endpoint devices, and document findings using handheld technology. Successful candidates are self-motivated, dependable, comfortable working outdoors, and capable of managing daily field assignments independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field troubleshooting and mitigation of water endpoint devices using handheld tools and equipment.
- Conduct basic diagnostics and resolve connectivity or functionality issues.
- Perform minor manual tasks, including replacing utility lids and accessing meter locations.
- Accurately document completed work, findings, and status updates using handheld devices.
- Travel throughout assigned service areas daily to complete field investigations.
- Navigate residential and light commercial locations using maps, GPS tools, and assigned routing information.
- Meet daily productivity expectations of approximately 30 completed sites.
- Maintain professional communication with stakeholders and the public while in the field.
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable driving throughout the workday and traveling between assigned locations.
- Comfortable visiting residential neighborhoods and customer locations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong reliability and ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently.
- Basic technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn handheld device applications.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to enter and manage data accurately.
- Ability to read maps, navigate routes, and utilize GPS tools effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous field-based work experience.
- Prior experience in utilities, construction, telecommunications, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Experience working with utility meters, endpoint devices, or infrastructure equipment.
- Familiarity with GPS, mapping applications, and field data collection systems.
- Experience operating from a company vehicle or managing daily field routes.
- Utility industry experience is highly preferred.
Work Environment / Additional Information
- Fully field-based position located in Bellevue, WA.
- Daily reporting to a central warehouse or designated reporting location.
- Local travel required, typically approximately 20–30 miles per day.
- Personal vehicle preferred for daily travel.
- Work is performed outdoors in residential and light commercial environments.
- Must be comfortable sitting, driving, and traveling throughout the workday.
