We are seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed physician (MD or DO) to work per-diem or part-time through our telehealth platform. This practitioner will work directly with patients and team members to ensure we are providing the best care possible.
You will evaluate new and returning patients for Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Program. Patients will be evaluated through a synchronous phone or video interaction, both initial evaluations and annual recertifications can be conducted virtually — no office space required. You set your own schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive consultations via telehealth and obtain health histories
- Evaluate patients for one or more of Pennsylvania's 24 qualifying serious medical conditions
- Determine whether the patient is likely to receive therapeutic or palliative benefit from medical marijuana, and confirm the continuing-care relationship required by the Department of Health
- Submit patient certifications through the DOH practitioner portal and document certification numbers in the patient chart
- Assist patients with state registry questions and certification paperwork
- Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (in good standing with the PA Department of State)
- Current approval on the Pennsylvania Department of Health's practitioner registry, including completion of the required 4-hour DOH-approved training course
- Minimum of three years of clinical practice experience
- Comfortable working independently in a telehealth setting; reliable internet and a private, HIPAA-appropriate workspace
