Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. This dynamic role involves supervising team members, managing sales floor activities, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise retail staff during assigned shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.
- Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, merchandising, stocking, and POS (Point of Sale) system transactions.
- Manage cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and basic bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting employee orientation sessions.
- Monitor sales activities to meet or exceed targets through effective sales management and upselling techniques.
- Ensure proper pricing strategies are implemented; manage inventory control and purchasing to optimize stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with team members using managerial communication skills; handle customer inquiries with professionalism and phone etiquette.
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within the retail industry or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of retail sales processes, inventory management, POS systems, and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, budgeting, and merchandising.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for retail math tasks such as pricing and cash handling.
- Experience with retail store product knowledge, inventory control, stock replenishment, and sales management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively; time management is essential.
- Previous assistant manager or managerial experience is preferred; supervising experience is highly valued.
