Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all items are processed correctly and on time. Your expertise will support seamless warehouse operations, facilitate order fulfillment, and maintain high standards of inventory accuracy. Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists or purchase order and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging materials, labeling, and documentation. Coordinate with carriers, vendors and internal departments to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to load, unload, and transport goods safely within the warehouse.
- inventory movements and update stock records accurately.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.
- Maintain organized stock areas through proper stocking techniques and regular inventory counts.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with other departments to optimize workflow.
- Contribute to inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
- Follow safety guidelines during all warehouse operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Ability to lift, move and carry heavy items (typically 25-50 lbs)
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or distribution centers is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Replenishment, and order picking.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members across departments.
- Valid certification for forklift operation is desirable but not mandatory.
