Duties
- Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing gear, rigging techniques, and harnesses to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations.
- Use rigging equipment to carefully lower branches or sections of trees to prevent damage to property or surroundings.
- Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts for access to elevated work areas, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct tree care assessments, including health evaluations and growth inspections, utilizing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping and documentation.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, shrub trimming, and general landscaping to enhance overall site appearance.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including tree conditions, treatments applied, and project progress.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving tree trimming, land clearing, or landscape enhancement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a tree climber with a strong understanding of tree care practices and climbing safety procedures.
- Proficiency in rigging techniques and the operation of bucket trucks or bucket lifts.
- Knowledge of GIS technology for mapping and site documentation is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with landscaping, lawn care, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to identify different tree species and assess their health status through growing experience in horticulture or related fields.
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to work at heights for extended periods while maintaining safety standards.
