JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: EHS Manager
OBJECTIVE
The incumbent will be responsible for helping deliver effective training programs, performing job-site inspections, performing thorough accident/incident investigations, and effectively communicating the program goals to all employees. Performs responsible professional work involved in occupational, safety and health program development and implementation, safety training and accident investigation; and related duties as assigned. This position is to assist in contributing to the safe work environment through coaching and encouraging a safe workplace culture and raising awareness to eliminate incidents and injuries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the welfare, safety, and well-being of all staff members by regular review of health and safety procedures; ensuring that they comply with the most current legislative guidelines

Develops and implements comprehensive occupational safety and health program (including teaching, testing, medical compliance, accident investigation, incentives, hazard auditing)

Provides guidance, direction, leadership, and advice regarding OSHA compliance and requirements

Ensures employee safety body of knowledge remains an active part of career

Manages return to work program

Maintains required documents; including OSHA documentation, SDS, Sustainability records, accident reporting and
-
Conducts weekly safety training and testing
-
Identifies and provides solutions from hazard assessments, regulatory compliance and raised employee health issues

Develops, recommends, implements, and coordinates programs to improve the plant’s environmental outputs and records

Prepares and presents reports as needed.

Enforces Compliance with federal, state and local occupational safety and health laws and regulations
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1-3 years of safety experience with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles
-
Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively with individuals and groups.

Ability to identify safety hazards and propose alternatives for solutions.

Develop and deliver effective safety training topics/programs.

Identifies conditions which create hazards for workers, orders elimination of unsafe conditions and practices.

Helps develop and conduct safety education and training programs for employees.

Investigates occupational accidents, examines causes, and recommends appropriate action to be taken.

Conducts regular (documented) inspections and makes recommendations for improvement

This position is located 50% manufacturing environment and 50% office environment, with exposure to:

Noise levels consistent with a busy office
