Cerakote/Painter Assistant

SHIFT: THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 6:30AM - 7:00PM - WORK 36HRS PAID FOR 40 - MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN DURING THE WEEK FOR A FEW WEEKS BEFORE MOVING TO A DIFFERENT SHIFT. TRAINING IS MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 8AM - 5PM.
Job Overview
Microtech Knives is looking for a Cerakote/Painter Assistant to join our coatings team. This role is responsible for applying high-quality finishes to our industry-leading knives using various techniques such as Cerakote, powder coating, wet paint spraying, and hydro dipping. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a steady hand, and a passion for precision work.
Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation:

Prepare parts for coating, including sandblasting, cleaning, dipping, and masking.

Ensure all surfaces are properly prepped to achieve the best coating results.

Paint & Coating Application:

Apply Cerakote, powder coat, and other finishes using professional spray equipment.

Follow all standard procedures for paint flow, viscosity, and quality control.

Operate and maintain coating equipment such as spray guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems.

Cure and bake parts at the correct temperatures and time limitations.

Quality Control & Inspection:

Conduct visual inspections to ensure proper coating application.

Monitor machine gauges and equipment to detect defects.

Maintain high standards for finish consistency, durability, and appearance.

Equipment & Maintenance:

Keep painting tools and workstations clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Perform basic maintenance and repairs on painting equipment.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow all safety guidelines related to coatings, chemical handling, and PPE usage.

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or Cerakote application preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.

Basic mechanical and manufacturing knowledge is a plus.

High school diploma or GED required.
