Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Physical Therapist
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Solid understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes and documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and other therapists
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions for a K-12 caseload with a variety of needs and abilities
- Effective communication and organization for managing caseload paperwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine motor skill deficits and physical needs
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for students in accordance with IEPs
- Providing direct therapy, both individually and in small groups, addressing gross motor skills, mobility, and adaptive needs
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate strategies throughout the school environment
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining detailed records, and participating in IEP meetings as needed
- Offering consultation and support to school staff regarding accessibility and best practices
