Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Explain treatment plans clearly to patients, addressing questions and ensuring understanding of procedures, costs, and insurance coverage.
- Coordinate with dental providers to schedule appointments, follow-ups, and specialized treatments in accordance with practice protocols.
- Verify patient insurance information, submit claims accurately, and follow up on reimbursements while maintaining compliance with health regulation policies.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate patient records using medical management software.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone or in person to provide updates on treatment progress or financial arrangements.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times by adhering to privacy laws and practice policies related to medical information security.
- Assist with billing procedures, including processing payments, explaining insurance benefits, and managing financial arrangements for patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of health regulation policies related to patient privacy (e.g., HIPAA compliance) is essential.
- Experience with medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance claims processing.
- Familiarity with patient management software systems such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations.
- Understanding of health insurance policies, coverage options, and reimbursement procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality.
