Customer Service & Membership Specialist
Scouting America – Longhouse Council
Reports To: Director of Field Service (or Scout Executive, as assigned)
Status: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Customer Service & Membership Specialist serves as the first point of contact for members, volunteers, families, donors, and community partners while providing administrative support for the council’s membership efforts. This position delivers outstanding customer service, maintains accurate membership records, assists with unit registration and renewals, supports recruitment initiatives, and ensures a welcoming and professional experience for everyone interacting with the council.
Customer Service & Administrative Support
· Serve as the primary receptionist for the Council Service Center.
· Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails.
· Assist families, volunteers, and community members with Scouting questions.
· Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly.
· Maintain a welcoming reception area.
· Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting materials.
· Process mail and maintain office records.
· Assist with event registrations.
· Support program and membership data entry.
· Maintain office supplies
Membership Administration
· Process youth and adult membership applications.
· Assist volunteers with online registration.
· Maintain accurate membership records.
· Assist in processing transfers, renewals, new unit registrations, and charter renewals.
· Generate membership reports.
· Monitor membership data for accuracy.
· Support unit leaders with membership and charter renewal questions.
· Assist new families joining Scouting programs.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Two years of customer service or administrative experience preferred.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Ability to learn Scouting America membership systems.
· Knowledge of Scouting America is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
