Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic 12th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to inspire and engage high school seniors in their final year of secondary education. Responsibilities

- Facilitate classroom discussions that promote critical analysis of texts, creative writing, and effective communication skills.
- Prepare students for standardized testing by creating practice assessments and providing targeted feedback to improve performance.
- Mentor students through academic advising, writing workshops, and personalized tutoring sessions to support individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and instructional strategies to foster a cohesive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and ways to support learning at home.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively by implementing positive discipline techniques and fostering an inclusive, respectful atmosphere.
- Incorporate research skills, library resources, and social sciences content into lessons to broaden students’ academic horizons.
- Stay current with developments in linguistics, educational technology integration, and literacy education to continually enhance teaching practices.
Skills
- Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning tailored for high school learners.
- Strong knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading techniques, and copy editing to guide student writing projects.
- Experience in teaching social sciences, journalism, creative writing, and literature analysis with teenagers in diverse classroom settings.
- Proficiency in integrating learning technology tools such as digital platforms for collaborative projects and assessments.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with an ability to adapt teaching methods to various learning styles.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students alike.
- Ability to mentor students academically while fostering their social-emotional development through behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and educational compliance regulations relevant to secondary education.
- Background in higher education teaching or private school experience is preferred but not required; a passion for literacy education is essential.
- Organizational skills necessary for managing multiple lesson plans simultaneously while maintaining a focus on student achievement.
