About the Opportunity
Sevn Workforce Solutions is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a school-based contract position in Mason, Michigan (Lansing area). You'll help students with disabilities access their education — building the fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills they need to participate and succeed in the classroom.
This is a Monday–Friday daytime schedule that follows the school calendar. No nights, no weekends, no holidays — and summers off if you choose.
What You'll Do
- Provide evaluation and treatment for students with IEPs across school environments
- Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team in assessments, IEP meetings, and eligibility determinations
- Address fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory regulation, feeding/eating skills, and activities of daily living
- Recommend and support assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and classroom accommodations
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Document services and student progress in compliance with Michigan special education requirements
Compensation — Choose the Plan That Fits You
Local Candidates: $55.00/hour, fully taxable W-2 wages — approximately $2,062/week. This is a premium contract rate, well above the local staff market.
Travel Candidates: $2,200/week gross package, structured as taxable hourly wages plus tax-free lodging and meal & incidental stipends (up to $1,150/week tax-free) for candidates who maintain a permanent tax home 50+ miles from the assignment and duplicate living expenses. More of your paycheck stays in your pocket compared to fully-taxed packages with a bigger sticker number.
Our team will walk you through both options and help you determine which plan you qualify for.
What You'll Need
- Master's or doctoral degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current Michigan Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility — we can assist with licensure)
- NBCOT certification
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required for school employment
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred, but not required — we welcome OTs from clinical settings looking to transition into schools, and we'll support you in the switch
- A heart for kids and the patience to meet students where they are
