American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/PCU (Intermediate Care) position in Indiana, requiring telemetry experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

26-bed Step-Down Intermediate Care unit in a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes cardiac, neuro/stroke, dialysis, post-operative, respiratory, and general medical-surgical overflow patients
-
Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, IV drip management (cardiac, vasoactive, insulin infusions), and care for patients with central lines, PICC lines, oxygen therapy, high-flow oxygen, and CPAP/BiPAP

Day shift: 07:00–19:30

Floating to other med/surg units may be required

13-week contract
-
Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state currently in hand

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (both must be AHA-issued)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Step-down, PCU, or telemetry nursing experience required

Nursys license verification required prior to start

Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Must provide SSN, DOB, two professional references, skills checklist, copies of certifications, license verification/Nursys, and a copy of Driver's License for consideration

Provide direct nursing care to medically complex patients requiring telemetry monitoring, frequent assessments, and specialized interventions

Perform comprehensive cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic assessments and interpret cardiac rhythms and lab results
-
Administer IV medications and manage complex patient care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and case management

Accurately document assessments and interventions in the EMR

Recognize and respond to early signs of patient deterioration, including activating rapid response as needed
