American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and the ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.

Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
-
Patient population includes chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, COPD exacerbation, COVID+, TIA, stroke, HTN, AFib, AFlutter, bradycardia, tachycardia, GI bleed, wound infections, and cellulitis
-
Specialized procedures include pre/post angiogram and angioplasty (no sheath pulls), PPM/AICD, LINQ recorder, EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridement, chest tube management, central line catheter insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
-
Equipment includes telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs

Cardiac drip management included (rhythm management only, not titrated for blood pressure)

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

13-week contract

Active Louisiana (LA) or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA required)

ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications preferred (AHA required if applicable)

Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience

Telemetry experience required

Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias

Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted

RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process

All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
