Job Summary

Duties
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restock shelves as needed, and assist with merchandising efforts.
- Handle cash drawer balancing at the beginning and end of shifts while ensuring accurate cash handling procedures.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and supporting overall store cleanliness.
- Demonstrate product knowledge by conducting product demos when appropriate and sharing information about store offerings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Supervising experience or leadership roles in retail are a plus.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette for engaging customers over the phone or in person.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of grocery store or retail environment experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.
