For more than 40 years, Figgins Trees & Turf, Inc. has delivered exceptional landscape installations across the Chicagoland area. As we grow into 2026, we are restructuring our Installation Division into specialized pods with dedicated crews (Hardscape, Planting, Demo, and Detail) working together under a Project Manager. This structure is designed to increase efficiency and quality on all projects.
We are seeking an experienced Detail Crew Lead to run the finishing touches on our landscape installation projects. This crew specializes in the final steps that bring projects to life — from grading, landscape lighting and edging to clean-up and polish. As the Detail Crew Lead, you will coordinate with the Project Manager and other crews to ensure every installation is completed at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Detail Crew on installation projects, coordinating closely with the Demo, Hardscape, and Planting Crews.
- Perform and oversee tasks such as: final grading and site prep, bed edging, mulch and decorative stone installation, small plantings, sod patches, touch-up work, landscape lighting and site cleanup.
- Ensure completed projects meet company quality standards before handoff to clients.
- Train and mentor crew members, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
- Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding progress, needs, and quality.
- Track crew hours and materials usage.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in landscape installation (crew lead experience preferred).
- Knowledge of landscape construction practices, equipment, and materials.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
- Ability to operate installation tools and light equipment.
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to craftsmanship and finishing excellence.
