Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and changes in condition.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as social work or home community care is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare meals that meet client needs.
- Familiarity with working in nursing home or group home settings is advantageous.
- Must be reliable, patient, and possess a strong desire to help others.
