Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, coordinating with various departments to ensure optimal workflow, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations. This role is vital in aligning production activities with customer demands, inventory levels, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in production management, supply chain analytics, and ERP systems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Duties
- Develop detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels using ERP systems such as SAP.
- Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans proactively to address delays or bottlenecks.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Support plant management in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production plans, changes, and related reports for management review.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Facilitate communication across departments to ensure alignment on production priorities and deadlines.
- Assist in the integration of new manufacturing processes or equipment to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in production planning or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with MRP, lean manufacturing, and process improvement methodologies.
- Mechanical knowledge or understanding of manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret supply chain data and implement improvements.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
