ABOUT ONE HEART BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
One Heart Behavioral Health is a California-based mental health practice providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy to clients across the lifespan. We serve individuals, couples, and families, and we are committed to making quality care accessible by partnering with major insurance plans. Our practice handles credentialing, billing, scheduling support, and referrals so that our clinicians can focus on what matters most, their clients.
POSITION SUMMARY
One Heart Behavioral Health is seeking a California-licensed clinician to join our practice as an independent contractor. This is a hybrid role that combines telehealth and in-person sessions in our office in Reseda. The contracted clinician will maintain a caseload of at least 15 clients per week, providing therapy to adults, children and adolescents, couples, and families. The practice manages insurance credentialing, claims, and administrative support, allowing the clinician to concentrate on clinical care while enjoying a flexible, self-directed schedule.
ENGAGEMENT & SCHEDULE
· 1099 independent contractor engagement; the clinician operates as an independent practitioner.
· Hybrid delivery with a combination of telehealth and in-person sessions based on client need and clinician preference.
· Minimum caseload of 15 clients per week, with the opportunity to grow the caseload based on availability.
· Flexible scheduling where the clinician sets their own hours and availability. Office is open from 9:000am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.
· Primarily an in-network insurance caseload; the practice manages credentialing, claims submission, and collections.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide individual, couples, and family therapy to clients across the lifespan, including adults, children, and adolescents.
· Maintain a consistent weekly caseload of at least 15 clients.
· Conduct intake assessments, develop and update individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions.
· Complete clinical documentation such as progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments accurately and on time in the practice’s electronic health record (EHR), consistent with payer and licensing requirements.
· Coordinate care with other providers, families, schools, and community resources as clinically appropriate.
· Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, California regulations, and the standards of the applicable licensing board (e.g., BBS).
· Respond to client communications and clinical concerns in a timely, professional manner, and follow practice protocols for risk and crisis situations.
· Participate in periodic case consultation and stay current with relevant practice communications.
· Maintain an active license in good standing and complete all required continuing education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Active, unrestricted California license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
· Current professional liability (malpractice) insurance, maintained for the duration of the contract.
· Ability and willingness to see a minimum of 15 clients per week.
· Experience providing therapy across a range of populations, including adults, children and adolescents, couples, and families.
· A private, HIPAA-compliant space and reliable high-speed internet for telehealth sessions.
· Proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
· Eligibility to be credentialed with major commercial and/or public insurance panels.
· Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and reliable, timely documentation practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Two or more years of post-licensure clinical experience.
· Training or specialization in couples and family therapy modalities.
· Experience working with children and adolescents, including collaboration with parents and caregivers.
· Specialized clinical training such as trauma-informed care, EMDR, CBT, or DBT.
· Bilingual abilities, particularly Spanish.
· Existing credentialing or paneling with one or more insurance plans.
COMPENSATION
This is a flat-rate contract position. Compensation is paid at an hourly rate of $60 for completed clinical services, contingent upon timely submission of all required documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, in accordance with practice standards and payer requirements. Payments are issued on a bi-weekly basis. Because this is an in-network caseload, the practice manages insurance credentialing, claims submission, and collections at no cost to the contractor.
WHAT THE PRACTICE PROVIDES
· A steady stream of client referrals and support in building a full caseload.
· Insurance credentialing and paneling handled by the practice.
· Billing, claims submission, and collections managed on the clinician’s behalf.
· Administrative and scheduling support.
· Access to a HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform.
· Office space for in-person sessions.
· A collaborative, supportive clinical community with opportunities for consultation.
