Adult Basic Ed Teacher
Part-Time 10 months/169 days/8 hours a day
Schedule: Monday through Friday; possibility of one to two nights per week
Locations: Anoka Technical College (ATC), Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC), and online.
Duties: Provide direct instruction to adults in developmental-level math courses at ATC and ARCC. Collaborate with college instructors to support students in class, separate support sessions, and through online learning platforms.
Duties include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records. Successful candidates can utilize cooperative teaching strategies during instruction, integrate technology into learning, and implement the CCRS/ACES/NorthStar standards (training available). Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Current MN Teaching License, or ABE license. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to work as a team member. Computer skills required. Must be physically working in the building/onsite.
Preferred Qualifications: High confidence in math skills through college algebra preferred. Experience using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction. Proficiency in integrating technology into learning is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations preferred. Computer experience and comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet, email, and Google apps preferred.
Rate of pay: $33.84/hour and up D.O.Q, benefits eligible. View additional terms and benefits here.
