Responsibilities
Administer PACU care, monitor vitals, and manage post-anesthesia recovery per protocol.
Escalate clinically significant findings promptly to the surgeon and anesthesiology team.
Assess, document, and communicate patient status to OR and surgical team.
Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control and safety standards.
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and patient flow metrics.
Document all clinical actions accurately in the electronic medical record.
Administer medications and analgesia per orders while monitoring for adverse effects.
Engage in continuous learning to meet growth and merit-based advancement goals.
Collaborate with team to optimize turnover times and improve throughput.
Prepare PACU for next patient; restock supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
Provide patient and family education on post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
Maintain on-site presence and accountability for personal performance in a results-driven environment.
Experience/Qualifications
Current RN license and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
PACU recovery knowledge with post-anesthesia care protocols and vitals monitoring.
Ability to escalate findings to surgeon and anesthesia team promptly.
Accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) for all actions.
Medication administration and analgesia management with adverse event vigilance.
Infection control adherence and patient safety standards in PACU.
Strong collaboration to optimize turnover times and throughput.
KPIs and patient flow metrics tracking; data-driven performance improvement.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
On-site presence with personal accountability in a results-driven environment.
