ATHLETICS AT GPS:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Racquets Professional is a part-time position and will assist and/or lead organized clinics, events, and tournaments as well as support the overall growth of the racquets program through summer camps and programming initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support and maintain a standard of performance consistent with the institution’s goals of athletic excellence while supporting the school’s standards for academic and personal discipline;

Enforce all school athletic policies, emphasize good sportsmanship in word and behavior, and encourage healthy lifestyles;
- In conjunction with the Tennis Operations Coordinator, assist in coordinating lessons and clinics to promote the growth of the admissions pipeline for future GPS student-athletes;
- Teach lessons, clinics and as requested by the Tennis Operations Coordinator.
- Maintain current certification with approved governing organizations; USPTA, PTR, PPR

Ensure accurate daily completion of member charges and payment for all junior and adult lessons. No lessons are to be provided at any off-site facility.

Assist with additional special events

Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School, Director of Athletics and Strategic Planning, or Tennis Operations Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of two years of previous coaching experience preferred but not required; collegiate or comparable tennis playing experience, pickleball experience a plus
- Willingness to work with and encourage players of various ages and playing abilities;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Collegial, eager, and collaborative work ethic for the betterment of the athletes and GPS Athletics;

Ability to work night and weekends when needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and work in varying weather conditions
