The Opportunity
Through multiple housing and food models (Emergency Shelter, Permanent Supportive Housing, Prevention and Diversion, food pantry services) the Pathways of Hope Program team assists homeless families and individuals reduce housing barriers, work toward greater economic opportunity and independence, and strengthen community social service linkages necessary for the participant(s) to end their homelessness and obtain safe, sustainable, permanent housing.
This position works with our Food and Community programming in collaboration with Cypress College and North Orange Continuing Education (NOCE) in Anaheim, along with our HUB of Hope in Fullerton, and requires a flexible work schedule including some weekend, morning, and evening shifts, as well as reliable transportation to attend partnership meetings and community appointments. This position will be 60% on-site at one of the food pantries, 20% on-site at the Programs Office, and 20% in the field connecting with community partners and attending community and program meetings.

Job Summary:
As part of Pathways of Hope’s Programs Team and in collaboration with Cypress College and NOCE, the Food Programs Manager is responsible for directly overseeing the HUB of Hope Food Pantry Coordinator, the College Food Pantry Coordinators at both Cypress College and NOCE, the Volunteer Program Specialist, and the Food Pick Up Driver. Additionally, this position will fill gaps in services for both college food pantry operations and HUB of Hope food pantry operations when their direct support staff are out of the office or if there is turnover with any of the college or HUB of Hope positions. This position is integral to the Program Team and will assist with food pantry support at our HUB of Hope and food pantry support for students/participants at Cypress College and NOCE. This position will track outcomes related to food and assist, as needed, with other immediate supportive services within the college and HUB of Hope programs. Additionally, it requires spending considerable time with its direct staff who will be working directly with students/participants in immediate need and must be able to not only assess the situation, but offer empathy, brainstorm creative alternative solutions and help both staff and students/participants by providing guidance and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing and supporting program staff
- Conducts weekly supervision with support staff, individually
- Responsible for onboarding and training new hires, as necessary
- Covers job responsibilities and duties for both college food pantry operations when staff are out of the office or if there is turnover with any of the college or HUB pantry positions
- Responsible for the ongoing professional development of staff
- Participates in interviews and supervises program specific interns, as applicable
- Meets and communicates regularly with the Senior Director of Programs regarding student/participant challenges and status, staff and facility updates, and ancillary programs
- Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Manage and maintain oversight of all food pantries’ appointments and client management databases, ensuring accurate scheduling, client information, check-in records, and data integrity.
- Responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with all college and food programming and its policies and procedures
- Helps elicit constructive feedback and creativity to refine service delivery and program operations of the college and food programming, as necessary
- Develops and implements outreach strategies to increase program participation and awareness within the community
- Coordinates with college administration and faculty to integrate program services into the academic environment
- Ensures the safety and cleanliness of the food pantry and other program facilities, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Provides crisis intervention and referral services for students/participants in immediate need
- Provides one-on-one support and case management for students/participants with complex needs
- Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in food security, housing services, and student support
- Provides supervision, direction, and support to the Food Rescue Driver to ensure safe, timely, and effective food rescue operations.
- Oversees food rescue routes and logistics, coordinating schedules and assignments to ensure efficient collection and delivery of donated food.
- Coordinates with grocery partners and other food donors to maintain effective communication and support ongoing food rescue operations.
- Keeps appropriate records and complete all forms in a confidential and professional manner
- Reports success stories, progress, and statistics to Supervisor, ongoing
- Maintains relationships with existing partners and cultivates partnerships with additional community organizations
- Represents Pathways of Hope at community meetings and presentations, as needed
- Works with the Development Team to create and document program achievements in the form of success stories and student/participant photographs
- Provides oversight and direction to the Volunteer Program Specialist and the overall volunteer program, ensuring effective program operations and service delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with all volunteer program policies and procedures.
- Provides guidance and support to the Volunteer Program Specialist in the development and implementation of volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Monitors volunteer program operations, schedules, participation, and outcomes to ensure program goals and needs are being met.
- Helps provide constructive feedback and creativity to refine volunteer program operations and service delivery, as necessary.
- Maintains appropriate oversight of volunteer program records, documentation, and reporting requirements in a confidential and professional manner.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a similar major
- Previous experience in case management, preferably working with unhoused individuals, families and/or persons in crisis
- Previous experience in food programming or food pantry operations, with knowledge of food insecurity and related community resources, is preferred.
- Previous experience directly supervising a team of staff is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software including HMIS preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
Compensation
This is a full-time exempt position with annual compensation of $72,500. Typical hours would be Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm with occasional attendance at evening and weekend events required.

Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
- Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 10 hours a day
- Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses and vision sufficient to use equipment or operate a car safely.
- Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and on the telephone
- Lifts up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
