Position Overview:
As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our dental professionals and ensuring the highest level of patient care. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in dental procedures, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Chairside Assistance:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures and assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments.
- Ensure all necessary instruments, materials, and equipment are ready for use.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Proficient with temporary fabrication
2. Patient Care and Comfort:
- Comfort and reassure patients during dental procedures, addressing any concerns or anxieties.
- Take and record patient medical histories, blood pressure, and vital signs.
- Manage and update patient records accurately and efficiently.
3. Radiographic Imaging:
- Capture and process dental radiographs (X-rays) according to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety measures and guidelines.
4. Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on dental equipment and instruments.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other dental professionals and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate treatment plans.
7. Patient Communication:
- Explain dental procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Provide post-operative care instructions and follow-up guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program and current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.
- CPR certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 per week
