Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for travel assignments across various healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in critical care environments, including ICU, emergency medicine, and trauma centers. This position offers the opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings, providing vital respiratory support and patient care for a wide range of populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics. The RRT - Travel will be responsible for delivering exceptional respiratory therapy services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting medical teams with advanced airway management and ventilator management.
Duties
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Manage ventilator settings and monitor patient responses to optimize respiratory function.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, and blood gas analysis.
- Perform airway management procedures such as intubation, extubation, and suctioning.
- Provide emergency respiratory interventions in critical situations, including airway emergencies and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, PICU, ICU, and outpatient clinics.
- Document patient care activities accurately within electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards.
- Participate in patient education regarding respiratory health and medication administration when appropriate.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital settings such as ICU, emergency rooms, trauma centers (Level I & II), or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures including airway management, ventilator management, and physiology knowledge.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to pulmonology, anatomy, and acute care practices.
- Experience working with pediatric patients (Pediatrics), geriatrics (Geriatrics), and diverse inpatient/outpatient populations.
- Prior employment at Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred.
- Strong background in respiratory therapy with certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Knowledge of medication administration related to respiratory treatments is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care.
