Children’s National Hospital, one of the nation’s top-ranked pediatric hospitals, is seeking a compassionate Pediatric Physical Therapist II to join our Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Clinic.
This role supports children and families across the full continuum of care, providing both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services to pediatric oncology patients. The therapist will play a key role in multidisciplinary care focused on mobility, function, endurance, and quality of life throughout treatment and recovery. The Physical Therapist II will be responsible to provide advanced skill level physical therapy service to a wide spectrum of pediatric disabilities/diseases. Must be knowledgeable in therapeutic exercise, abnormal and normal development, and modalities such as hydrotherapy and electric therapy. Work collaboratively with leadership and program manager to provide updates for clinical and administrative operations of Rehabilitation Program and specifically with Physical Therapy Department.

Physical Therapist II Therapist’s responsibilities will include:

Participation in multidisciplinary clinics for screening and coordination of therapy services for children and their families with primary cancer diagnosis, and their related medical issues.

Development of educational programs for children and their families on effective and safe exercise.

Coordination of services and communication with IP Hematology/Oncology therapist’s during hospitalizations

Provision of OP treatment as needed for this population

Participation in future research opportunities
