Job Summary:The Supportive Living Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents in a senior living community. This position involves performing a variety of housekeeping duties with a focus on ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitizing:Perform routine cleaning tasks in resident apartments, common areas, and other designated areas.
Ensure that all surfaces, furniture, and fixtures are cleaned and sanitized to maintain a hygienic environment.
Room Setup and Maintenance:Prepare resident rooms for new occupants, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
Report any maintenance issues or needed repairs to the appropriate personnel.
Assistance with Resident Requests:Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests for additional housekeeping services or specific cleaning needs.
Foster positive relationships with residents and address any concerns related to housekeeping services.
Adherence to Safety Protocols:Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring a safe working environment.
Communication:Communicate effectively with other staff members, including nursing and caregiving staff, to coordinate efforts and address resident needs.
Report any unusual observations or concerns regarding resident well-being to appropriate staff.
Time Management:Prioritize tasks efficiently to meet daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Adapt to changing priorities and address urgent cleaning needs as they arise.
Respect for Resident Privacy:Demonstrate respect for resident privacy and confidentiality while performing duties.
Ensure that personal belongings are handled with care and respect.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a housekeeper, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassion and patience when working with elderly residents.
- Understanding of and commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy living environment for seniors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Stamina to perform physical tasks throughout the day.
