In this role, you will play a critical part in our cardiothoracic surgery department, providing comprehensive surgical care to patients with heart and lung conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives within our practice.
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures and manage pre-operative and post-operative care

Conduct patient consultations and evaluations to determine surgical needs

Collaborate with surgical teams to plan and execute complex surgeries

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary

Participate in case reviews and quality assurance activities

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and recovery

Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques and technologies
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Valid medical license to practice in the state of California

Completion of residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery

Strong clinical skills and surgical expertise in cardiothoracic procedures

- Level III Trauma

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7a-7a

Setting: Hospital and some clinic coverage

Average Patient Volume: 2-3 ICU patients, 1-2 admissions, and 2 callbacks

Duties: Office hours, hospital rounds, heart team meeting, interacting with APPs, and surgery

Required Procedures: Cardiac and thoracic procedures, including CABG, valve surgery, aortic aneurysm repair, TAVR, etc.

Support Staff: Medical office staff, perfusionists, nurses, APPs, and anesthesiologists
