About the Position
We are a growing trucking company seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for payroll processing, driver account management, collections, billing support, and various accounting and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage weekly driver payroll
- Prepare weekly driver charge reports, including mileage, tolls, fuel cards, Comdata, PrePass, BestPass, pilot expenses, and related deductions
- Manage and maintain BestPass devices and fuel card assignments
- Handle collections and follow up on outstanding balances
- Respond to payroll and accounting-related inquiries from drivers
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and payment discrepancies
- Perform accurate data entry and record maintenance
- Coordinate with Fleet Operations regarding weekly driver charges and account reconciliations
- Support general accounting and administrative functions as needed
- Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or administrative experience preferred
- Experience in the trucking or transportation industry is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
