ReStore Associate
Reports to: ReStore Manager
Schedule: Full Time
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Salary: $18/hour
Summary
The Restore Associate is responsible for assisting with every aspect of ReStore operations. The associate position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced and high-demand work environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure cleanliness and safety of the loading dock, processing area, and the sales floor
· Assist customers on the sales floor
· Assist with loading dock activities including monitoring donation drop-offs, and cleaning and pricing items
· Train and supervise volunteers
· Assist with volunteer database and onboarding
· Assist with donation screening and pick-ups
· Maintain product knowledge and up-to-date information on sales events
· Accurately and efficiently operate cash registers according to procedure
· Serve as a back-up driver of the donation box truck
· Consistently provide an exceptional level of both internal and external customer service
Physical Requirements
· Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
· Frequent bending, squatting, lifting and other repetitive motions
· Work is performed in a wide variety of settings and environmental conditions
Additional requirements
· Possess a valid New York State driver’s license, with a clean driving record, the ability to be covered under the organization’s general liability insurance, and ability to pass a DOT medical exam.
· Completion of a background check at time of employment
· Excellent customer service skills

This position requires the physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The position requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses, and color determination vision. The position requires the ability to climb ladders or scaffold up to 6 feet high, grasp, reach, stoop, speak, listen and distinguish differences in odors. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs. The normal workplace will be in the ReStore office and retail space, which are smoke-free, and temperature controlled. Up to 25% of the work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, possibly outdoors, in warehouses, or at donor facilities.
