About the Role
The Marketing & Relationships Manager at Janie’s Mill is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote our brand, strengthen relationships with customers and partners, and increase sales across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels. This role combines creative marketing initiatives with relationship management, ensuring that Janie’s Mill remains a trusted and respected name among home bakers, chefs, retailers, and distributors. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in both creative and analytical work, with a passion for organic food, sustainable agriculture, and community engagement.This role is an on-site, full-time position, and reports directly to the Mill Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution
● Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
● Manage content creation for the website, email marketing, newsletters, social media, and printed materials.
● Oversee product photography, videography, and storytelling that authentically communicates Janie’s Mill’s mission, values, and commitment to transparency, while highlighting Janie’s Farm and bringing our Farmer to Mill to You approach to life for customers.
● Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional materials and coordinate product
launches.
● Monitor marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies for optimal results.
Relationship Building & Outreach
● Maintain and grow relationships with wholesale customers, chefs, bakers, retailers, and
community partners.
● Coordinate participation in events, trade shows, farm tours, and community outreach
opportunities.
● Serve as a brand ambassador for Janie’s Mill, representing the company at industry and
community events.
● Develop partnerships with organizations and influencers aligned with our mission.
● Oversee private and public mill tours.
● Showcase our customers and partner farms.
● Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture through colleague connection, recognition, celebrations, and internal communications including the monthly newsletter.
Customer Engagement
● Respond to customer inquiries and feedback on social media, email, and other communication channels.
● Collaborate with the Mill, Fulfillment, Retail, and Sales teams to ensure a consistent and positive customer experience.
● Create and advertise special promotions to encourage repeat purchases.
Brand Management & Consistency
● Ensure all marketing materials and communications reflect Janie’s Mill’s brand identity and values and that content remains accurate, current, timely, and up to date.
● Maintain an up-to-date library of brand assets, including logos, product images, and marketing templates.
● Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and emerging marketing tools or platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
● Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
● Experience: 3+ years in marketing, communications, or public relations; experience in the food industry preferred.
● Creative Skills: Strong storytelling, copywriting, and content creation abilities.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, email marketing software, and website management (Shopify or similar).
● Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop long-term
professional partnerships.
● Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple
priorities.
● Analytical Skills: Ability to track, interpret, and act on marketing data and performance metrics.
● Passion for Food & Sustainability: Knowledge of organic food, milling, or sustainable agriculture is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
● Primarily office-based with regular travel to events, trade shows, and partner locations.
● Occasional weekend or evening work for events.
● Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for event setup.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
