Position: Medicaid Coordinator
Location: Nassau County, New York
Shift: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Medicaid Coordinator to join our team in Massapequa, NY. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing Medicaid applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and assisting residents and families through the financial eligibility process.
Oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.
Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.
Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.
Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.
Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.
Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.
Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.
Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
At least 1 year of direct experience with Medicaid applications and re-certifications.
Medicaid Portal experience preferred.
MEDS system experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and managed care guidelines.
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
