We're looking for a General Manager who leads from the floor; someone who cares as much about the quality of a croissant at 6am as they do about the integrity of the books at night.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Manager oversees all aspects of bakery operations leading and supporting the team, maintaining the financial wellbeing of the bakery, and ensuring retail, baking production, and dailyoperations run at the highest standard.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be on the floor driving the experience, coaching your team in real time, and solving problems with patience and care. The ideal candidate is a strong decision-maker with a genuine love for hospitality, food, and people.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Team Management
– Build and lead a high-performing team through strong coaching, motivation, and conflict resolution
– Manage shift leads, FOH team members, trainers, and porters
– Model DEI principles and foster a culture of inclusion in the bakery
– Facilitate open, clear, and effective communication across all levels
– Manage team member performance through assessments, coaching, and regular development
conversations
– Handle difficult conversations with team members directly, fairly, and consistently
Guest Experience
– Set the standard for exceptional guest service and coach the team to do the same
– Demonstrate a deep understanding of customer preferences and expectations
– Build lasting relationships with guests and connect them to the community around the bakery
– Troubleshoot and resolve guest complaints quickly, communicating outcomes to ownership
Operations
– Ensure daily tasks are completed, orders are fulfilled accurately, and DOH food safety standards are consistently met
– Adhere to established protocols and maintain the highest standards of excellence across all products
– Regularly check on ingredients and finished products to maintain consistency
– Ensure all in-bakery and third-party delivery orders are accurate and safely prepared
– Partner with ownership on cash reconciliations, time sheets, and inventory accuracy
– Delegate restocking, cleaning, and organizational tasks to the team
Financial & Growth Management
– Own labor scheduling and consistently hit weekly labor % targets
– Oversee inventory, ordering, and waste tracking in partnership with the kitchen lead
– Review COGS weekly and flag margin issues proactively
– Support ownership in developing sales strategies; minimizing waste, optimizing labor, upselling, and community-based initiatives
– Review P&L with ownership regularly to identify and act on opportunities
REQUIREMENTS
– Minimum 3–5 years of food service, QSR, or retail experience
– At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
– Availability across 4 set days per week including at least one weekend day
– Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs and stand/walk for a 10-hour shift
– Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
– Proficiency in basic computer tools: email, Microsoft Office, POS systems (Square preferred)
– Must hold or be able to obtain DOH Certification and required food handler certifications
COMPENSATION &; BENEFITS
– $25.00-$30.00/hr – 40 hours a week
