Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Guard to serve as a vital protector within our educational environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campus by implementing comprehensive security measures, monitoring premises through surveillance, and responding swiftly to any incidents. Your proactive presence will help foster a safe learning atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of school grounds, buildings, and entry points to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks.
- Monitor surveillance systems continuously to oversee campus activity and detect suspicious behavior or safety hazards.
- Manage access control systems, verifying identities of visitors, staff, and contractors before granting entry.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents or security threats, following established emergency response procedures.
- Write detailed incident reports for any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities observed during shifts.
- Perform background checks on new staff or visitors as part of the security screening process.
- Utilize conflict de-escalation techniques and law enforcement collaboration when necessary to manage disputes or disruptive behavior effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles, military service, law enforcement or related fields with knowledge of physical security practices.
- Valid certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and Taser use preferred.
- Familiarity with surveillance technology, access control systems, incident report writing, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and maintaining physical security protocols.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflict management and conflict de-escalation confidently.
- Knowledge of compliance with security regulations relevant to educational institutions and experience performing background checks.
- Physically capable of patrolling large areas on foot or via vehicle as needed; comfortable with heavy lifting when required.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
