The Laborer/Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment and performing general labor duties to support the daily operations of the Materials Division. This position helps ensure efficient production, material handling, site maintenance, and loading operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and teamwork.

Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, skid steers, dozers, haul trucks, and other equipment as assigned.

Load customer and company trucks with aggregate, sand, stone, mulch, loam, and other materials.

Maintain traffic patterns and assist customers safely within the yard when needed.

Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, site cleanup, sweeping, and assisting with maintenance projects.

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment/plant and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns using mobile device.

Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine preventative maintenance as assigned.

Follow all company safety policies, MSHA/OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.

Work with foreman and management to prioritize daily tasks and production schedules.

Monitor crushing plant operations and adjust crusher settings for production optimization.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Have ability to follow specific verbal and written instructions

Strong mechanical skills in the maintenance of Quarry equipment and crushing equipment

Ability to effectively communicate with other workers on site and report any site or equipment issues that may arise to the site Foreman

Comfortable around large construction machinery and signaling to operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safe team environment

Valid driver’s license

MA 2A/1C hoisting license

Ability to pass a drug test.

Minimum of 3-5 years mining and excavation experience

Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain throughout the day.

Ability to enter and exit heavy equipment multiple times daily.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, and noise.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
