Job Description:
We are seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to provide technical support and exceptional customer service to customers and internal teams. This role serves as a key resource for product selection, application support, and technical guidance while working closely with engineering and sales to deliver timely solutions.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, applications, installation, and technical specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to assist with product selection and application recommendations.
- Troubleshoot product and application issues while identifying practical solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to resolve technical questions and customer concerns.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to customer requests, technical support cases, and product applications.
- Assist customers in identifying the appropriate products based on project requirements and specifications.
- Maintain customer records and service activity within CRM or internal systems.
- Follow up on open customer requests to ensure timely resolution and a positive customer experience.
- Provide feedback to engineering regarding recurring customer questions, product improvements, and documentation enhancements.
- Support the development and maintenance of technical documents, product information, and installation resources.
- Prioritize multiple customer requests while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness.
- Build strong relationships with customers by delivering knowledgeable, professional, and solution-oriented service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in technical customer support, engineering support, applications support, inside sales support, or a related technical role.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, CAD drawings, blueprints, or technical specifications.
- Customer-focused with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, industrial, or construction-related products or systems is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using CRM, ERP, or service management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate technical information.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD, Technical Studies, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
