JOB The EMS Skills Instructor will provide quality instruction in the subject matter assigned by the Director of EMS Programs in accordance with programmatic, NCOEMS, and CAAHEP/CoAEMSP guidelines and standards.
This position will remain open until filled. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Active, unrestricted NCOEMS credential at the Paramedic level required

Associate's degree from an institution accredited by a federally recognized institutional accreditor and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline preferred

Extensive (5+ years) experience in the medical profession, which must include experience as a paramedic

Must possess a North Carolina Level I Paramedic Instructor credential or be eligible for Level I instructor status within 1 year of employment

Previous teaching experience at a high school, community college, or university with experience as a psychomotor skills instructor is preferred

Typical classroom teaching environment

Frequent standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, withstanding frequent changes in temperature

Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling

Frequent lifting and carrying items up to 150 lbs., with or without assistance

Frequent travel between buildings on campus and infrequent travel to other campuses

Frequent listening to and talking with students and other faculty and staff members

Infrequent sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse
