About Venture House
Venture House is a community-based non-profit, mental health agency, utilizing the Clubhouse Model of Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Our mission is to support individuals living with mental illness to achieve recovery through improved access to education, employment, recreation, housing and community engagement in an environment of mutual acceptance and empowerment.
Venture House's Bronx Clubhouse is a non-residential facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
Venture House seeks an individual with skills and experience related to audio/visual media production, podcasts, and content creation to collaborate with our membership in the creation and development of content, as well as coaching others in the use of studio equipment. Staff will participate in ensuring that Venture House has a robust media presence and that public communication is up to date and relevant.
Staff work side-by-side with Clubhouse Members (program participants) to run day-to-day operations, including intake and admissions, meal preparation and service, facility maintenance, program development and implementation, job development and coaching, as well as social and recreational programming.
The cornerstone philosophy of the Clubhouse movement is that meaningful activity is restorative. Therefore, the primary responsibility of the is to engage Clubhouse members in the “Work Ordered Day” (WOD), which is comprised of projects in the Media Center as well as other tasks that need to be completed around the Clubhouse. The Editing and Production Facilitator will also assist our members in reaching their recovery goals, including: housing; employment; education; financial literacy; socialization; sobriety; and wellness.
Tasks and responsibilities include job coaching, benefits advisement, case management, crisis intervention, day-to-day operations, group facilitation, documentation in electronic health record, graphic design, video editing, and content creation
Our Bronx Clubhouse is open Monday-Friday, with an eventual goal of being open 365 days a year. The schedule for this role is primarily Monday-Friday 9-5, with occasional evenings and weekends required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Required) with concentration in Media Production, Communications, as well as education in Psychology or Related Human Service field. Masters preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in Mental Health
- Driver's License (Strongly preferred)
- Strong Computer Skills including Adobe suite, photoshop, Indesign, Lightroom, Premiere, etc
- Internet and smartphone knowledge and access
- Experiencing using DSLR camera
- The ideal candidate is a passionate and enthusiastic self-starter with strong problem solving and engagement skills and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
