We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Special Education (SPED) Evaluator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education services, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of students' cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning using a variety of standardized tools and techniques.
Interpret evaluation results and prepare detailed reports in accordance with state and district guidelines.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders to discuss evaluation findings and recommend appropriate interventions.
Assist in developing and reviewing IEPs based on evaluation data.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality of student information.
Stay current with best practices, assessment tools, and legal requirements related to special education.
Compensation:
$150-$175 per evaluation
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Education Department Teaching Certificate of one of the following:
Special Education Permanent
Students with Disabilities Birth-Grade 2
Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6
Students with Disabilities Grades 7-12
Students with Disabilities All Grades
Proven experience conducting special education evaluations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
