Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
- Manage general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, debits & credits, and month-end close procedures
- Perform financial analysis and cash flow analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, securities law, and other regulatory requirements
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for data entry and reporting
- Assist in internal audits, external audits, and SOX testing by providing detailed documentation and supporting schedules
- Support non-profit accounting activities including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects and related financial reporting
- Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts, best practices, and professional development initiatives
Skills
- Extensive experience with GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting standards
- Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel data analysis, spreadsheets), and advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management
- Knowledge of SOX controls, securities law compliance, governmental accounting standards, Wills/trusts & estate law is a plus
- Demonstrated ability in financial report writing and interpretation for executive leadership or external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed financial analysis and forecast accurately
- Effective mentoring skills to guide team members on accounting best practices and professional growth
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
