Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint, handling, and care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures
- Prepare and operate medical equipment including radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and laboratory instruments for diagnostic testing
- Support surgical procedures by assisting with anesthesia administration, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining aseptic techniques
- Perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertions, vascular access, and catheterizations with precision and confidence
- Conduct diagnostic radiology procedures such as X-rays while ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
- Manage laboratory tasks including sample collection, processing, and analysis for diagnostic purposes
- Provide pet grooming, dog training support, and basic pet care to promote overall animal well-being
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate veterinary records using veterinary software systems; document procedures, medications administered, and patient progress
- Support emergency medicine cases by assisting with critical care procedures in high-pressure situations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant with strong animal handling skills
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with dental terminology, dental procedures, and pet grooming is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory work, diagnostic radiology (X-ray), medical equipment operation, and anesthesia monitoring
- Ability to perform IV insertions, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheterization, and vascular access confidently
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Experience working in emergency medicine or critical & intensive care settings is highly desirable
- Kennel experience or dog training background is beneficial but not required
- Ability to handle animals of all sizes safely; knowledge of animal restraint techniques essential
- Commitment to animal welfare with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills
- Availability to work Urgent Care shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-8 plus 1 General Practice shift during the week from 6-6:15

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
