The Arc of Blackstone Valley is a private non-profit agency that supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in all areas of daily living.
The Group Home Manager is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the program. S/he is responsible for promoting independence and community participation/integration of the individuals living in the home through creative planning, effective use of staff management and professional teamwork. S/he must also maintain program and fiscal operations in accordance with regulations, philosophies and Agency Policies.

Minimum job requirements: BA/BS in human services field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required; experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, good written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required; must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and driving record must meet insurability requirements for transportation of individuals in agency or own vehicles, as set forth by the agency’s insurer; be qualified to provide direct assistance to people supported in accordance with regulations; be able to communicate with individuals, physicians, service coordinators and appropriate others in the participant’s language or communication style; be able to follow Speech, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychological Support plans; be able to be trained in Med. Administration, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI), Integrated Clinical Services (ICS) and all other trainings necessary to department; be able to work independently and respond to emergency situation at all times; must not have any disqualifying crimes in a current BCI and/or NCIC criminal background check; regularly required to use hands in order to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, talk and hear; required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, climb, pull, push and sit; must occasionally lift/transfer 50 to 75 pounds alone. The employee must occasionally lift/transfer up to 200 pounds with the assistance of other staff.
