Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and knives.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality meal preparation.
- Provide support to dietary aides as necessary, especially when catering to specific dietary needs.
- Assist with washing dishes or other duties, as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on cooking techniques and meal preparation.
- Familiarity with fine dining service standards and practices is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Excellent knife skills and experience with various kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in menu planning or catering is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
