Job Summary:
The North America Account Manager-Heavy Truck is responsible for driving profitable sales growth by developing new business opportunities and managing key customer accounts across the heavy truck market. This role requires a strong background in heavy truck sales (Class 6 and greater), the ability to build strategic customer relationships, and the capability to translate technical and commercial requirements into winning business solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop New Business Opportunities
Build relationships with key customer contacts to pursue new business so annual sales objectives are achieved
Make presentations to key customer contacts to highlight Casco’s products and capabilities
Provide on-time quotations and required customer documentation to win new business
Obtain and communicate advanced information on customer technical needs to the internal team
Coordinate internal communication on commercial issues with engineering and other departments as needed to support new business development
Obtain competitive benchmark information
Update internal tracking documents for new business on a monthly basis and complete visit reports, lost / won business documents, and other forms as required by the position
Sales Planning
Provide and analyze data by customer for long range sales plans
Track and communicate customer product / launch changes throughout the organization
Understand program delays or cancellations and recovery processes
Commercial Management
Key point of contact for customer purchasing contacts
Support daily customer interface needs including required customer forms
Manage pricing to ensure profitable margins
Work with management team to develop / support commercial strategies
Coordinate with internal team to receive cost information to support quoting for changes as well as new products
Track and manage product purchase orders
Track, support verification, and confirm payment for tooling purchase orders
Support other departments such as Quality and Logistics to resolve customer issues as needed
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 3-5 years of proven success in winning new business and managing existing accounts.
At least 3-5 years of experience in heavy truck sales (Class 6 and greater).
Automotive electronics experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge base of automotive standards, automotive core tools (understands APQP milestones, etc.) and OEM database systems required.
Proficiency required in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Must have excellent technical communication skills – verbal and written, as well as excellent organizational skills.
Must possess leadership ability, communication proficiency, capable decision making, problem solving/analysis, and strategic planning.
Capable of leading cross functional teams with engineering, manufacturing, customer service and understanding how their functions interact.
Must be results-oriented, team-oriented, self-directed and capable of working independently, with the ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously and use sound judgment in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
Must maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have a hybrid work environment including time in the office, work from home, and visits to local customer sites.
10% – 15% travel may be required (International and Domestic).
